A Special Trip To Mexico City Because I’m… Pregnant!

I’ve been living in Tulum, Mexico since May 2024. Clay relocated to join me about 10 months later in March 2024.

Not to overshare but let’s just say, I got pregnant 3 days after Clay moved down to Tulum hahah. It wasn’t planned - but it wasn’t a surprise. I’m 30 and Clay’s 29. We have been together for 6+ years so we are ready as individuals and a couple to expand our lives.

There isn’t a lot of top tier medical care in Tulum so we thought we’d make a special trip to Mexico City for our first ultrasound. I did a lot of research and found Onna Medical through a Reddit comment. The comment spoke really highly of the facility, English speaking staff and overall experience. I absolutely hate being in doctor’s offices. I am really squeamish so I wanted to go somewhere that I knew would be clean, welcoming and accommodating to English speaking.

All that aside, the first ultrasound went as good as it could have. She gave us an A+ which was incredibly relieving. My favorite part was hearing baby’s heartbeat because it made all of it feel real.
