My New Show - The New Wave Podcast
An overdue career update that I’ve been nervous to share about although I’m not sure why because you guys are always so supportive! I think I was just in the midst of my own grief, uncertainty and finding my footing.
In February, after 5 beautiful years and over 300+ episodes, the Already Friends Podcast came to an end. It was a show that my friend Ceara and I co-hosted together every single week since 2021. It was a very bittersweet goodbye to a community that gave me stability while navigating life as a young adult. I took time to grieve this chapter closing, but it will still always hold such a special place in my heart.
I received SO many kind messages with the end of Already Friends that it gave me the encouragement to start a new solo show. I really forgot how much work it is to get a new brand off the ground. From the name, to content pillars, to hosting and distribution, to formatting… It's a big lift. It’s also incredibly vulnerable and humbling. With Already Friends, we’d accumulated 800+ reviews, almost a million downloads and a global audience. Starting completely over and being susceptible to criticism, haters, and failure is admittedly very scary… even though I’ve been sharing online for 12+ years. Here’s the final episode where I cry my eyes out.
So in June, I launched my new show ~ New Wave Podcast but I hardly told anyone except close friends and family… which is really unlike me but I wanted to ease into it, experiment with the format, and record from the heart without the pressure of immediate promotion. I wanted to make sure it felt grounded, aligned, and sustainable before sharing with the world. After a few months ~ I’m finding my rhythm, refining my audio editing skills, committing to a posting schedule, and cultivating confidence to keep going.
I also really value calm corners of the internet so it’s important to me to keep the New Wave podcast this way. So rather than having a bunch of show sponsors and therefore ads to read on the show, I chose to go another route to monetize the podcast… The New Wave Handbook. It’s a very comprehensive guide about mindful living, inviting in more peace, regulating your nervous system and finding beauty in the everyday.
There’s already 20+ episodes waiting for you to tune in! The show can be listened to on Apple Podcast, Spotify and Substack. There’s a blend of full sit-down episodes and casual "Voice Logs" where I’m capturing thoughts while I’m out and about in the world. A unique format that I came up with as a result of being a mom with limited time, but I think it authentically captures my life in a way that feels more personal than typical podcast format.
If you've been missing our weekly chats, the door is wide open. Any listens, shares, positive ratings and reviews are welcomed 🤍
