I’ve been offering freelance work since I was 17 years old (I’m 30 now). My first gig was doing the creative direction for a local boutique. At the time, Instagram was brand new so I helped them develop a social media presence. I coordinated all the photoshoots which included everything from on-site flat lays to off-site lifestyle shoots with models. I was really inspired by this and decided to choose an adjacent career path.
I went to school at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated with two bachelor’s degrees - Art Graphic Design and Journal Advertising Public Relations. I wanted to understand both how to make something special AND how to actually sell it to customers.
While I was in school, I was working and taking clients for a variety of projects. I created many websites, logos, brand guides, paper flyers, social media graphics, coordinated themed events, designed apparel, modeled in photoshoots, was the photographer for photoshoots, planned weddings, started partnering with brands on social media, and a variety of things in-between!
To this day, I’ve hardly ever advertised what services I offer as the majority of the time, clients come to me - which has it’s pros and cons. On the up side, it’s a huge honor to be sought out amongst all the talent around me and it’s led to being involved in projects that I wouldn’t have even know existed. I’ve been able to learn about various industries and develop new skills in order to complete the projects. On the down side, I’ve also taken on work that was either unfulfilling, not quite in my wheelhouse, or the project ended up being way more time intenstive than I charged for.
After 10+ years freelancing, I have refined what type of projects I take on, so I can put forth my best effort and intention to my clients. This being said, if you would like to hire me (and my team) for a project that isn’t listed below, please inquire, and I’ll see if it’s in alignment!
