Highlights of 31st Birthday Weekend
I celebrated this weekend with a lot of my favorite things that nourish my soul 〰️
Fun activities included a massage, Pilates class, wrote a reflective blog post, let Clay cook for me, bike rides, a movie at the theatre, a sound bath, tried two new restaurants, visited a herbal shop for tea + essential oils, carpet cleaned our couch and rugs, recorded a podcast episode, wandered my favorite neighborhood in the city, a cacao ceremony, washed every linen in the house, and spent as little time on my phone as possible.
I’m feeling so grateful for Clay’s gifts of new Bang & Olufsen headphones, a yoga ball and handwritten letter. the headphones had been on my wish list for yearsss but I never ever would have bought them for myself.
My mom got us annual museum passes for 500+ museums around the Netherlands which is going to be perfect this fall and winter. For dinner, we went to a cheese fondue restaurant, which had been on my bucket list to try here (very quintessential Dutch!)
The older I get, the more I realize it’s the little things on a daily basis that make life fulfilling. The big grand moments, while amazing, are few and far between.
I woke up on my birthday feeling incredibly content with my life, grateful and at ease. I truly didn’t want or need anything so it felt great to go with the flow and do whatever felt right in the moment… which entailed a bunch of things I do on a regular basis anyway. I think that’s a good sign that I’m living a life I love!
