Well-Rounded Health With Your Partner

I am a fairly competitive person but I also have my insecurities. One of my biggest insecurities has been my body. I feel very average. I don’t think I’m fat but I don’t think I’m as fit as I could be. This was exemplified when I started dating a personal trainer… who is obviously very physically fit.

Well funny enough, his insecurities lie with his intelligence and open mindedness. He’s not dumb but he’s not a savant. He’s not so stuck in traditional ways but he hasn’t traveled that much to be exposed to many ideas and lifestyles. So when he started dating me, this was exemplified for him.

In our early years, we didn’t really let the other person know how self conscious we were and how inferior we felt to the other in our own ways. Well as we got closer and had many deep conversations, we realized this.

Letting our guard down took (and is still taking) a lot of inner personal work to not feel inadequate to each other but we have prioritized putting our pride aside and allowing ourselves to learn from the other in their areas of expertise.
