Day Trip To Delft For Antique Market
I visited Delft on a solo trip for the first time in September 2023 and really enjoyed it. If you’re going to Amsterdam or in the area ~ it’s absolutely worth a day trip for the Vermeer museum, charming streets and good food. The Delft Antique Market is every Saturday from April to October. There are over 100 stalls with things such as tableware, jewelry, Dutch tiles, Delft blue china, glassware, prints, maps, books and more.
My friend Jessie was visiting me in Haarlem for the 3rd time (amazing friend award!) so we thought it would be fun to take a day trip to Delft to show her something new. Delft is less than an hour away by train so it’s an easy trip.
The first order of business was for cappuccinos and sweet treats at a super cute cafe.
We browsed the antique market in search of coffee cups made of the famous delft blue pottery. Right when I gave up, and said out loud to jessie “it’s okay it’s not meant to be” the next vendor stall had the perfect ones. Then we hung out on the main square to people watch and enjoyed a delicious happy hour snack.
Now the Delft cups live on the counter by my new espresso machine!
