Closing The Already Friends Podcast Chapter
Receiving The News:
At the end of 2025, my co-host Ceara let me know she was ready to step back from Already Friends. We’ve been doing the show together since launching in 2021. It’s now been over 5 years of weekly episodes, so I totally understand her choice. Preparing, recording, editing, and marketing the show is a labor of love. With over 300 episodes in our archive, we’ve explored SO many topics and gave the show our best effort every single week.
With Ceara’s decision, I needed to decide what that meant for me. The two immediate options were A) buy out her 50% of the brand to continue to the show solo or B) step away as well. After much internal debate, journaling, meditating, and talking to loved ones - I finally arrived at a choice. I will also be stepping back from Already Friends.
Why I’m Stepping Back:
Closing the AFP era was not something I saw happening anytime soon, but I primarily felt like the show was our joined creation - which didn’t feel completely aligned to pursue further by myself or with another new co-host. I didn’t want the legalities of a buyout to complicate our friendship. I also felt like the cost of the brand could be reinvested into a new brand that was just my own.
For more details on this, you can subscriber to patreon.com/alreadyfriends for $5/month (cancel anytime). Patreon also has 50+ bonus episodes that were never released to the public channel. Patreon will remain active through the remainder of 2026 for those who are missing AF and want more episodes to listen to.
Saying Goodbye Together:
I am inviting listeners to celebrate this closing chapter of Already Friends with me by submitting a Goodbye AFP Message to be read aloud on the show. If Already Friends has meant something to you, if an episode got you through a hard week, made you feel less alone, made you laugh when you needed it, or positively changed your life, I want to read your words on that final episode.
Please submit by May 15th in order for it to be received before recording. The final episode will be published May 20th.
Bittersweet Ending:
It was a really hard decision as I poured so much energy into the brand and topics to bring value to our listeners. The AFP community will always be dear to my heart. I’m SO incredibly grateful for this journey and for every person’s who tuned in. I’m grieving in closing this chapter, but there are new projects on the horizon to stay connected. From experience, I know that endings are also new beginnings so I look forward to future opportunities that will come my way.
The Public Channel:
We will be keeping the public channel on Spotify and Apple Podcast for the foreseeable future. There’s no reason to take down these episodes after all the effort, time, money, and love that was poured into creating them. I hope they continue to bring joy and inspiration to people’s lives all around the world!
