Boxing For Mind, Body and Spirit

Boxing has been growing in popularity and even if you have no interest in ever stepping into a ring to fight, there’s still so many reasons to give boxing a try!


I had my first 1:1 training sessions at a gym in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the raw and realness of it. Don’t get me wrong… I love my nice yoga studio with the clean towels, fresh eucalyptus, essential oil diffusers in the locker rooms and gentle assists from instructors - but sometimes it’s nice to channel the opposite side of myself.

In the spring of 2023, I decided to join a local boxing gym and really invest in it… and wow, it really changed my life. I knew I had a lot of built up anger, resentment, frustration and pride but didn’t realize how much until I was able to start releasing some of that.

Boxing whipped me into shape physically in a way that no other sport ever has before. Between 2020-2025, the leanest and strongest I’ve been is the when I was consistently going to boxing at least once, or twice a week.

Even though I looked my best on the outside, I’d honestly argue the mental benefits of such an intense workout actually outweigh the physical. I feel so powerful during and after a boxing class. I feel lighter. I feel more confident. I feel more self reliant.

I definitely recommend giving it a try! If you hate it, no worries but it has definitely encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone in other aspects of my life as well.
