Why I Don’t Fast As A Woman
I want to add a disclosure that I have totally dabbled into fasting! I am a huge fan of “try everything.” Heck, I’ll try everything multiple times in multiple ways — because I want to know for myself if something resonates and if I enjoy it.
There’s times I’ve fasted for mental reasons — where I felt like I was caught up in over consuming (not just food… social media, shopping, socializing, scrolling, alcohol, etc) and fasted as a way a help reset my priorities.
I’m sure I’ll fast at some point again in the future but knowing the negative ramifications of fasting — I can decide if it’s worth it or not for that occasion (rather than fasting being a regular part of my life).
I think nutrition is incredibly personal. While there are general guidelines that a lot of people believe (eat whole foods, get your protein, drink water)… it really is just what works for you at the end of the day.
Your body is your home. Take care of it how you want to, in a way that makes you feel good, energized, empowered and capable.
