My “Everything Showers” Physically and Mentally

Before tiktok gave us a name for ‘the everything shower,’ I would just call them ‘one of thooose showers’ with a lot of emphasis but I don’t think people really got what i meant lol so I love that we have a name for this now. 


I like to think of ‘everything showers’ as at-home spa days / nights. I am not sure if this is a good or bad way of doing this - but I feel like I usually do my ‘everything showers’ when i am really tired and overworked. It’s so nourishing to pour some love into my body that has carried me through all of the week’s demands - job, fitness, chores, errands, etc. 


While most people’s everything showers really focus on the physical, I also wanted to bring light to the mental side. By definition, mental hygiene is the science of maintaining mental health.

Thankfully, I think we have all realized how important taking care of our mental health is so I encourage you to add at least one mental hygiene practice into your next ‘everything shower’ too 🫶🏽


I think showering can be a form of meditation, especially because it’s time away from our phones and typically we know no one can reach us, so we’re able to surrender to the moment. This is why a lot of great ideas come in the shower - because you’re letting go and creating space for things to come to you.
