Subject: Animal Care
Course Title: The Pawfect Peaches’ Protocol
Dates: Monday September 1st to December 22nd.
Learning Objective: Facilitate all Dutch import requirements and deepen knowledge in caring for Peaches’ health, grooming, socialization and wellbeing.
Requirements for A+ Grade:
Attendance
Attend 2 consultation sessions with a poodle certified grooming specialist to obtain knowledge and practice techniques on caring for Peaches’ fur, eyes, paw pads, toenails, and teeth. ✓
Attend vet appointment for physical exam and rabies shot ✓
Research, Study and Media Consumption
Research dog anxiety-reducing methods and best practices to help with separation anxiety ✓
Research and complete Dutch import process: obtain UBN from RVO, complete import form, schedule exam, and submit all paperwork to obtain European Pet Passport.✓
Research methods for preventing and removing pink tear and water stains in light-colored fur
Research methods and products for aiding in dental health
Practice
Increase frequency of home grooming
At least 3 visits per week to the park for play + socialization.
Test various methods of leaving Peaches at home (morning vs, evening, after a walk, short departures, calming aids, lamps, music, blinds open or closed, etc) to assess what keeps her most comfortable. ✓
Final Capstone Project
Assemble a folder of all Peaches documents and needs.
Create a section in living room cabinet that has all of Peaches important items organized and readily accessible
$500 Grant:
Grooming supplies for more frequent at-home care (brushes, combs, shampoo, conditioner, eye cleansing pads, toenail trimmer) = $150
Specialist consultation/1:1 session x 2= $200
Rabies shot for Dutch paperwork = $50
Pet Passport + Import Form = $100
